How can I use LINUX cp -p to copy a file while retaining all of its properties, particularly its icon?

Unfortunately, the Linux command cp -p does not copy the icon of a file. The -p option only preserves the file's timestamp, ownership, mode, and ACL information.

If you want to copy a file while also preserving its icon, you can use a file manager such as Nautilus, Dolphin, or Thunar. These applications have a graphical interface that allows you to copy files while also preserving their attributes, including the icon.

Simply open the file manager, navigate to the file you want to copy, and then right-click on the file and select "Copy" from the menu. Then, navigate to the destination folder and right-click again and select "Paste". The file will be copied with all of its attributes, including its icon.
