In the scenario of two customers having non-blocking retry while consuming from a single Kafka topic, both customers will receive and process messages from the topic independently. If one of the customers fails to process a message, it will retry consuming the message until it is successfully processed, without blocking the second customer. The second customer will continue to consume messages from the topic without interruption.
This non-blocking retry behavior can be achieved by setting the appropriate configuration parameters for the Kafka client, such as the maximum number of retries and the backoff interval between retries. If both customers are configured with these parameters, they can operate independently and efficiently without causing conflicts or blocking each other.
