Scientific notation can be turned off in the output produced by json.dumps in Python by passing the indent
parameter to json.dumps()
method. For example:
import json
data = {"number": 1000000000}
# Display with scientific notation
print(json.dumps(data))
# Display without scientific notation
print(json.dumps(data, indent=None))
Output:
{"number": 1000000000}
{"number": 1000000000}
In the second call to json.dumps()
, the indent
parameter is set to None
, which disables the formatting of the output and returns it in the most compact form. This prevents the scientific notation for large numbers.
