You can use the JavaScript built-in function Boolean()
to convert a toggle string into a boolean value.
For example, if you have an HTML element with a data attribute data-active
that has a toggle string as its value:
<div id="my-element" data-active="true"></div>
You can extract the value of the data-active
attribute using getAttribute()
method and then convert it into a boolean value using Boolean()
function:
const isActive = Boolean(document.getElementById('my-element').getAttribute('data-active'));
console.log(isActive); // Output: true (boolean)
In the example above, isActive
will be a boolean value true
as the toggle string "true"
is converted into a Boolean value true
.
