To sort the first 50 rows in a spreadsheet, you need to follow these steps:

  1. Click on the cell in the first row of the column you want to sort by, such as cell A1.

  2. Hold down the shift key and click on the cell in the 50th row of the same column, such as cell A50. This should select all the cells in the first 50 rows.

  3. Go to the "Data" tab in the top menu, and click on "Sort Range."

  4. In the "Sort Range" dialog box that pops up, select the column you want to sort by from the "Sort by" drop-down menu.

  5. Choose whether you want to sort in ascending or descending order by selecting the appropriate option in the "Order" section.

  6. Click "Sort" to apply the sorting to the selected range.

  7. Check that the first 50 rows are now sorted as desired.
