To modify permissions in Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL), follow these steps:
- Open the Windows Command Prompt or PowerShell as an administrator.
- Type the command
explorer.exe shell:AppsFolder
and press Enter. - This will open the Windows App directory. Look for the WSL app (it should have a Linux distribution name like Ubuntu, Debian, etc.) and right-click on it.
- Click on Properties and go to the Security tab.
- Click on Edit and select the user or group that you want to modify permissions for.
- Check the boxes under the Allow or Deny column to modify the specific permissions you want to change.
- Click OK and then Apply to save the changes.
- Close the Properties window and restart the WSL app for the changes to take effect.
