To add a new empty area to the Android home screen, follow these steps:

1. Press and hold on any app or widget on your home screen until the options menu appears.
2. Tap on the "Home Screen Settings" option.
3. Scroll down until you see the "Add Empty Screen" button and tap on it.
4. A new empty screen will be added to your home screen.

You can then add widgets, apps, or wallpaper to this new empty area as you wish.
