To format the MS Word # field code to replace points with commas, follow these steps:

  1. Insert the # field code by pressing Ctrl + F9 or clicking on Insert Field in the Quick Parts menu.
  2. In the field code, add ",." after the pound sign (#) so that the field code looks like this: { MERGEFIELD myField # "#,0.00" }. This tells Word to use a comma as the decimal separator.
  3. Press Alt + F9 to toggle back to the field code result view. Your field results should now have commas instead of points as decimal separators.

Note: Depending on your regional settings, you may need to use a different formula. For example, in some regions, you may need to use # "#.##0,00" instead of # "#,0.00".
