This could be due to differences in the type of files that are displayed by default on the JFile Chooser on Mac and Windows. By default, the JFile Chooser on Mac may only display certain file types such as images, documents, and applications, whereas on Windows it may display all types of files including .txt files. However, the file types displayed by the JFile Chooser can be customized on both Mac and Windows.
