- Create a table or spreadsheet with the identified items as rows and the characteristics as columns
- Gather data for each characteristic from reliable sources such as websites, publications, or surveys
- Input the data into the corresponding cells of the table or spreadsheet
- Organize the data in a consistent format, such as using one unit of measurement or labeling categories consistently
- Check for accuracy and completeness of the data
- Save the completed table or spreadsheet as a dataframe in a preferred format, such as CSV, Excel, or JSON.
