There could be a few reasons why your y axis is changing when you add data labels to your boxplot:

  1. The data labels might be overlapping and causing the y-axis to adjust to accommodate the extra space. Try adjusting the position or size of the labels to avoid overlapping.

  2. The labels might have different font sizes, which can cause them to take up more or less space and impact the y-axis. Make sure all your labels have the same font size.

  3. The data being plotted might have a wide range, causing the y-axis to adjust when data labels are added. Consider scaling your data or adjusting the vertical range of the plot to better fit the labels.

To help diagnose the issue, try creating a plot without data labels and see if the y-axis still changes. If not, then the problem likely lies in the data labels themselves. If the y-axis still changes, then it could be an issue with the data or settings of the plot itself.
