To make a button export data to Excel in Power BI, you can follow these steps:
Create a button visual in your Power BI report. You can use the Shape Map visual or the custom visual called Button.
Add a bookmark to your report that captures the data you want to export. To do this, go to the View tab and click on the Bookmarks pane. Then, click on Add Bookmark and give it a name.
Go to the button visual’s properties pane and add a “Go to bookmark” action. Select the bookmark you just created in the dropdown menu.
Open the Options dialog box, by clicking on the three dots on the right side of the button visual.
In the Options dialog box, find the Export Data option and turn it on.
Save and publish your report.
When the user clicks on the button, it will take them to the bookmarked visualization and the Export Data option will be available for them to download the data as an Excel file.
