A 503 Service Unavailable error in API Gateway signifies that the server is unable to handle the incoming request at that time. This error may happen due to server overload or maintenance, or there could be a temporary disruption in network connectivity between the client and the server. When a client receives a 503 error, it should retry the request at a later time or contact the server administrator to resolve the issue.
