The recommended method for HTTP redirecting to HTTPS is to use a 301 redirect. This informs search engines that the original URL has permanently moved to a new location, and all links and other SEO value associated with the original URL will now be associated with the new HTTPS URL. Additionally, a 301 redirect guarantees that all users who access the original HTTP URL will be automatically redirected to the new HTTPS URL.
