Due to a Windows 10 update in the beginning of 2023, Excel VBA encountered error 429 and was unable to open the WORD application.

This issue can be resolved by following the steps given below:

1. Open Excel VBA and click on Tools > References.

2. Search for the "Microsoft Word Object Library" option and check the box next to it.

3. Click on OK to save the changes.

4. Open the Microsoft Word application outside of Excel.

5. Close all instances of Excel and Word applications.

6. Reopen the Excel VBA and try to open the Word application.

If the issue persists, try reinstalling Microsoft Office or updating the Windows operating system to the latest version.
