This error occurs when Nuxt2 attempts to load a module that has been written in ES module syntax (using import instead of require), but Node.js is unable to parse it. This can occur when using a package that has been written in modern JavaScript syntax, but the version of Node.js being used does not support that syntax. To resolve this error, you can either update your version of Node.js to one that supports modern syntax, or use a package that has been written using CommonJS syntax instead.
