To assign distinct colors to database connections in MySQL Workbench 8, follow these steps:

  1. Open MySQL Workbench 8 and navigate to the home screen.
  2. Click on "Manage Server Connections" under "Server Administration" in the left-hand menu.
  3. Select the connection for which you want to assign a distinct color and click the pencil icon to edit the connection.
  4. In the "Connection" tab, you will see a box labeled "Connection Name and Color". Click on the color box to select a custom color for the connection.
  5. Choose the color you want to assign to the connection and click "OK".
  6. Click "Test Connection" to ensure the connection still works.
  7. Click "OK" to save your changes.

Repeat these steps for each connection you want to assign a distinct color to. Once you have assigned colors to your connections, they will be visible in the "Manage Server Connections" screen and in the "Object Browser" when you expand each connection node.
