To deduct a single cell from each cell within a specific range in Microsoft Excel, you can use the following steps:

  1. Select the range of cells that you want to deduct a single cell from.
  2. Type the subtraction formula in the first cell of the range, replacing the cell reference with the actual cell reference of the cell you want to deduct. For example, if you want to deduct cell A1 from each cell in the range B1:B5, type "=B1-A1" in cell B1.
  3. Press Enter to get the result.
  4. Copy the formula by selecting the cell and pressing the Ctrl + C keys.
  5. Select the rest of the cells in the range and paste the formula by pressing the Ctrl + V keys.

The formula will update the cell reference accordingly for each cell within the range.
