To alter the format of dates in a particular column, follow these steps:

  1. Select the column that contains the dates you want to format.
  2. Right-click on the selected column and choose "Format Cells."
  3. In the "Number" tab, select "Date" from the left panel.
  4. Choose the desired date format from the list on the right. If the desired format isn't available, choose "Custom" and enter the format code in the Type field.
  5. Click "OK" to apply the new date format to the selected column.
