There could be multiple reasons for the unsuccessful connection. Here are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue:

  1. Verify that SQLServer is running and listening on port 1433. You can use the command netstat -an to check if the port is open and listening.

  2. Check the firewall settings on the server hosting SQLServer. Make sure that port 1433 is open for incoming traffic.

  3. Verify that the JDBC driver for SQLServer is installed on the CDC server where the JDBC sink connector is running.

  4. Make sure that the JDBC URL provided in the sink connector configuration is correct and that it includes the correct hostname, port, database name, and credentials.

  5. Verify that the username and password provided in the configuration are correct and have sufficient privileges to access the targeted database.

  6. Check the logs of the JDBC sink connector to see if there are any error messages related to the connection.

  7. Try connecting to the database using a SQL client tool (such as SQL Server Management Studio) to verify that the connection works from the CDC server.

Once you have identified the root cause of the connection failure, you can take appropriate action to fix the issue.
